The Inner Me

You scored as Kantianism. Your life is guided by the ethical model of Kantianism: You seek to have consistent laws rule your actions, and your will is directed by reason.

"I do not, therefore, need any penetrating acuteness to see what I have to do in order that my volition be morally good. Inexperienced in the course of the world, incapable of being prepared for whatever might come to pass in it, I ask myself only: can you also will that your maxim become a universal law?"

--Immanuel Kant

I Do Not Love You Except Because I Love You

Pablo Neruda

I do not love you except because I love you;
I go from loving to not loving you,
From waiting to not waiting for you
My heart moves from cold to fire.

I love you only because it's you the one I love;
I hate you deeply, and hating you
Bend to you, and the measure of my changing love for you
Is that I do not see you but love you blindly.

Maybe January light will consume
My heart with its cruel
Ray, stealing my key to true calm.

In this part of the story I am the one who
Dies, the only one, and I will die of love because I love you,
Because I love you, Love, in fire and blood.

Crime against humanity

The execution of Saddam Hussain further erodes whatever little credibility the US had in the region. The trial was farcical and exposes the hollowness of US claims of being the custodian of the rule of law. Instead, with the connivance of its stooges in Baghdad, the process of natural justice was flagrantly violated.

This tragic outcome, sends out signals across the world, that leaders who dare cross swords with the US, can meet the same fate. The US concept of fair play and justice is totally one sided. It has supported military dictators like General Pinochet in Chile, and had nothing to say about the massive human rights abuse during his tenure where thousand of people disappeared and mass graves were discovered. Pinochet and many others like him were rewarded by the US for crimes against humanity. And so is Pervez Musharraf , a long time ally of the US, who is never known to be a savior of democracy.

And the countries like Saudi Arabia, Guatemala, and Pakistan to name a few are the countries infamous for their dictatorial and oppressive regimes are the close friends of the US. Probably democracy has a different meaning in the US dictionary of law.

The death of Saddam will lead to further instability in the region. In fact it is devious plot by the US to break the whole country into pieces so that they can easily occupy the Iraqi oil fields and can have their presence in the middle-east.

The lesson from Iraq for relatively weaker nations is to resolve their conflicts themselves without creating space for outside intervention. Given the fact of US hegemony, any kind of adventurism on the part of smaller nations can be counter productive. Saddam Hussain was at fault when he invaded Kuwait, but he did not deserve this fate. If his fate was decided after a fair trial the consequences would have been much less damaging.

Iraq is an example how a socially liberal secular regime is not acceptable to the US and oil interests. Despite his faults, Saddam Hussain has done much for women’s emancipation and education in Iraq. No other state in the region, with the exception of Syria has done this. It is quite certain that the US will never allow a liberal democratic regime to emerge in the region. Who are the friends of the US here? The states which have no democracy.

Saddam Hussain was no noble man. But George Bush has killed more innocent people in the last three years than Saddam Hussain did in his lifetime. If Saddam can be tried for crime against humanity then why not Bush, Dick Chiney and their long time accomplice Tony Blair can be tried for the same? After all it’s the same pain people have to suffer before their death. And given the present situation in Iraq , peace is in no near horizon. And after the US invasion of Iraq 650000 civilians have been killed. Is oil costlier than blood?

Hope the US foreign policy become more humane and friendly in the coming year. The American common people should know that non-Americans are also called Homo sapiens.

This is what I recently read about in a website: Hope it is not offensive...........

Lipstick
was apparently first worn by ancient Egyptian and Sumerian prostitutes to indicate that
they were willing to perform fellatio (i.e. blowjob) on clients.The first high heels were designed to allow a prostitute to service clients while standing against a wall.

Thy Hand Great Illusion

“We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with a sleep”
Prospero

What our physics leading us to? The physical world around us is sometimes so much confusing and counterintuitive that we often misinterpret it by our introspection. A long time ago people used to think that the sun rotates around the earth. And that was quite obvious as we see the sun to rise in east and set in the west. Our modern physics is speculating that the universe is ten dimensional. The question arises why we don’t sense this ten dimensional universe. Our everyday experience tells us that the space has only three dimensions, it has length, breath and height and another dimension being time. And similarly the indications of Quantum Mechanics are so much counterintuitive. What our experience tells and what our mathematics tells are often contradictory. Our mathematically perceived world is different from the world we experience everyday. Why is this deception? Are we living in sea of great illusion? And the most important question may arise then is that illusion essential for our existence? It is as if that a great soap is being televised from some divine (?) studio and we are the spectators as well as part of that soap. How can one define the link, the interaction between the phenomenal space-time and the physical space-time? What is the relation between the consciousness and the brain? Mind and the matter? The recent demonstration by neuroscience and psychophysics show that we do not perceive the world as it actually is but as the brain computes it most probably to be. Do our mind, consciousness and thought exist beyond the physical space-time composed of matter, space and time?
